The area spans 1,710 square kilometers and is part of the Langtang National Park, a protected area home to a diverse range of wildlife, including 32 species of mammals, 283 bird species, and over 3,000 types of plants and medicinal herbs. Trekkers have a chance to experience the local Tamang culture, as most people practice Tibetan Buddhism. Spiritual sites like Kyanjin Gompa and Sing Gompa feature picturesque monasteries that enhance the tranquil atmosphere of the area.
